Lars Mikkelsen

Lars MikkelsenHe was enrolled at the National Theatre School of Denmark at the age of 27. He graduated in 1995. Alongside his appearance in the drama show telecast internationally as The Killing, he subsequently appeared in two other internationally highly acclaimed Danish drama series, Those Who Kill and Borgen III.He was also a key role in an episode of the BBC drama Sherlock as a blackmailer Charles Augustus Magnussen. He played the role of Russia's president on the American television show House of Cards. He won an International Emmy Award for 2018 for his part in the Danish television drama Herrens Veje. It was shown in the UK in 2019 under the name Ride Upon the Storm. In addition to his native Danish, Mikkelsen speaks fluent Swedish, German and English and has learned various accents. Mikkelsen claimed that his brother and he were able to learn English initially by listening to Monty Python recordings and watching comedy sketches.
